CMI Christ School Iritty was born out of the educational vision of Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the founder of CMI congregation. Blessed Chavara was a great educationalist and a social reformer of the 19th century. He could foresee the changes in the environment and make strategic moves to build a better society based on fatherhood of God and brotherhood of humanity.Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), the first indigenous religious congregation of India with a membership of around 3000, renders its service to humanity in educational, social, health care and other activities aiming at the integral development of the society. CMI Christ School is rooted in Gospel values, and is committed to provide Holistic education through the development of intellectual competence, personal skills, inter-personal skills and societal skills.

CMI Christ School, is a Christian minority institution under the management of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) fathers of St. Thomas Province, Kozhikode, who run several educational institutions and professional colleges at all levels throughout the country.

The School

The CMI Christ school in its quest for excellence in education ascribes to a tradition in education that goes back to more than a centuary. It is this acclaimed tradition that sets apart a CMI educational institution from others. It was a visionary educationist, the blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara himself who founded the CMI(Carmelites of Mary Immaculate ) the first indigenous Catholic religious congregation in India.
